7/31/2001 Pete was out this afternoon and we finished up this round of trimming. Pharaoh was a real jewel and stood very patiently for us. Levi was more fidgety but was still a good boy. It is so surprising how much they have grown. Levi is huge now and Pharaoh is not far behind. These guys are a real joy and will be wonderful buddies for someone in addition to being great show mounts. 7/26/2001 The farrier was out yesterday morning and we got all 6 of the foals trimmed. Pete is so patient and positive with them it is amazing. Hopefully this will lay the ground work for many years of problem free trimming. The babies are all growing like weeds as well and Uzziel is becoming quit the looker. This little guy is exceptional and his quality is really starting to shine through. Hopefully some day soon I will be able to get some photos of him that really do him justice. 7/17/2001 Dr. Eric was out this morning and confirmed our last 2 mares in foal, Dal and Baskette. Yeah! We are done for the year. Baskette is now officially offered for sale in foal. Her filly from this year is a real jewel as she is very sweet and correct too, just like mom. 7/13/2001 Seraphina left yesterday morning for her new home in Washington. Stacey and her family are anxiously awaiting her arrival. Congratulations Stacey you have found a real treasure in this girl! 7/10/2001 The farrier was out today. He got quite a few of the mares with foals at side. We had to move them out of the pens with the babies or we were going to get eaten. We also got Jerusalem and Isaac trimmed. They are such easy guys to get along with. It has been raining here so our freshly stacked hay is getting wet. Hopefully it will let up so it can dry out and be covered soon. 7/9/2001 We are back from a few days of vacation. It is amazing how much the foals can change in just a short time. Uzziel is amazing. He is really a beautiful animal and is shedding off quickly. We also came home to our hay being delivered. This cutting looks great and the stack is growing quickly. Now the work begins. We have to put it into the sheds and cover the rest. It is worth it though. 7/3/2001 We got the rest of the horses wormed today. Uzziel is such an easy guy to work with we didn't even have to put a halter on him. We should have some new photos of Levi up on the page in the next day or two so keep an eye out for that. He doesn't look like the same little guy and has already learned how to get his hind end under him. 7/2/2001 Aszmira left for Canada yesterday. She will be missed as she was a neat girl. I am sure that Lynda and Debbie will enjoy her thoroughly. We have also gotten most of the horses wormed and about half of the herd trimmed in the last week. What a job! We have a positive preg check on Jasman now too. She has been a wonderful producer for us giving us foals with loads of talent, big boned and level headed. |
