3/24/2002 We have had a very busy last couple of days. Friday Pete was out to trim horses and we got most of the mares done except Bint Bint as she is way to close to foaling to even try. It will probably be in the next few days that we will have her foal on the ground. Saturday we got a new load of wood chips for Jerusalem's pen as well as some of the other dry pens. The piles were huge and they smell great. Sunday morning Aralina set off to her new home with her mom, Kimberly. They are headed back to Iowa where Aralina will have a wonderful home and loads of attention. Have a safe trip Kimberly and Congratulations, it was a real pleasure to meet you and your family. 3/12/2002 Since we have decided to reduce our herd we have now offered one of our beautiful coming 3 year old fillies. Her name is Glory and she is just that, glorious. This filly will make an awesome half Arabian show horse and is quite the looker so please take a few minutes to check her out. The wind has started here but it is warmer in general so every break in the wind that we get we have been cleaning pens, worming horses and currying them like crazy to get the winter fuzz off. The grays always seem to shed out quicker and I find myself covered in white hair. It has been a real joy as the foals love it and try to shove each other out of the way to compete for their turn. 3/8/2002 This last week has been very busy. Dr. Eric was out on Tuesday and we got some of the mares updated on their 4-ways for foaling time and got coggins pulled on a couple too. We also got quite a few of the horses wormed including Wielka and Aralina. The wind has also been terrible and we had our babies escape yesterday because the panels got blown over. They were wonderful and went right back in for us. What a neat bunch of babies. |
