As of this morning the California fires have become very real to those of us living here in Montrose, Colorado. We awoke to seeing nothing but smoke instead of our beloved mountains and a hot pink dot that should have been the sun. The air is full cinders and it burns our throats and eyes as we venture outdoors. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you who are affected by this horrible tragedy as most of us will hopefully never know how this feels firsthand. God Bless you all!

The colors are changing and it is quite beautiful but it is unseasonably warm here. The horses are starting to fuzz up but still have a ways to go to be in full winter coat. They are feeling good and the mares are starting to look a little pregnant. It is a nice site to see and they appear somewhat lopsided at times due to foals laying on one side or the other of mom's belly. Fancy is the first due and it is some time in February. It seems like a long ways away but it will be here before we know it.

We have been quite busy scanning in and posting pictures of some of the horses. Most of them were taken 2-3 weeks ago and we now have most of our girls up in the mare barn. Not all of the write ups are complete yet but we are working on it. Olivette is up now. As you can see she changed from an almost liver chestnut as a yearling to a root beer gray at 3. Naomi was difficult to take pictures of as she is black and it is hard for this amateur photographer to get the conditions just right to really show her well. Esther is absolutely stunning and the pictures really don't do her justice. At least they will give you all an idea so please take a few minutes to stop by and look at them.

There are now pictures of our '02 black filly, Joy, up in the mare gallery as well as our lovely straight Egyptian mare Domineekh. She has been the finest broodmare we could ever hope for as all of her foals to date have been exceptional. The photos truly do not do this girl justice.
